Great Egret #39

‘Great Egret #39’ highlights one of my favorite birds. The photo also is a representation of human infringement on natural areas. In this case, the bird stands in a wetland, buffeted by winds, surrounded by manmade structures, including the post he stands on and the bridge in the background. While the photograph feels peaceful, it’s also a reminder that man’s historic ability to infringe on nature without destroying it, is sketchy at best.
