Walking Stick #2
These critters, and especially the ladies, are highly underrated! Usually making their full size appearance in late summer and early fall, Walking Sticks look and behave like something out of Star Wars. Found on all continents except Antarctica. The adult spend their nights eating vegetation high in the canopy. They have highly evolved feet and eyes, and they are parthenogenic to boot. Females can lay unfertilized eggs which hatch into females. All that and photogenic as well. The one photographed is climbing an oak tree, while providing a great profile in the setting sun.
