If I’m so Great Why am I standing in the Rain?

I have a problem. An ecologist by education, I’m drawn to wildlife including bugs, mammals, and certainly birds. Here we see a Great Egret standing in classic pose in the wind and rain on St. George Island. I stand a distance away in the same rain and wind attempting to capture the essence of the wind buffeted bird. Both the bird and the photographer are irritable. The photo has not been altered, with the blurred feathers a result of a very slow shutter speed and the wind.
