Spiderwort #2

‘Spiderwort #2’ demonstrates the yellow stamens and blue/violet petals against their deep green vegetation that really makes it a great wildflower. While I don’t know where the ‘spider’ comes from in the plant name, I did read that another common name is ‘cow slobber’. while I had never heard it called that, I’m pretty certain the name comes from the sticky slimy sap within the stem, although I don’t have any experience with cow slobber to confirm my suspicions. So in the spirit of odd vernacular, get yourself some Cow Slobber for your wall.
