White River – Brown Trout

The photo is my tribute to both the White River and the Brown Trout. The White River, originating in Arkansas, and flowing north into Missouri before returning, has been hugely altered by man, dammed (and perhaps damned) in effort to control flow and generate power. A positive result is the highly managed cold water trout fisheries including rainbow, cutthroat, brook and, largest of all, brown trout. This particular male, with his hook jaw, looks rather clownishly at the camera before being released.
