Turtle River Smallmouth

The smallmouth bass is the ultimate freshwater warrior. Little compares to the tenacity of a smallmouth on a fly rod. Their take can range from a subtle slurp of a mayfly off the surface to an airborne flight, completely out of the water in their attempt to crush a hair bug. And because they live in cold, oxygen rich water, their ability to sustain a fight is far beyond that of their warm water cousin, the largemouth bass. But don’t tell anyone.
